BLUEFIELD — Demetrius Saint John Alexopoulos, age 40, of 415 Federal Street, Bluefield, formerly of Keystone/Northfork area, died early Monday morning, January 14, 2008, at his residence after a long illness.Born July 18, 1967 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late John Demetrius Alexopoulos and Thelma Irene McKinney Alexopoulos. He was affiliated with the Protestant faith, was a former CNA, and general laborer, and was a resident of McDowell County most of his life.Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Crystal Dawn Taylor Alexopoulos in 2000; his maternal and paternal grandparents.He is survived by one son, Jon Demetrius Alexopoulos of Bluefield; two aunts, Lena McKinney of Northfork and Nancy E. McKinney Birdwell of Miami, Fla.; two uncles, Larry Stone McKinney of Mt. Hope and James Alfred McKinney Jr. of Florida; and several cousins.Funeral services will be held Wednesday (January 16) at 1:00 p.m. at the Widener Funeral Home Chapel, Northfork, with the Rev. thingyie Meredith and the Rev. Edwin Ogburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplar Grove Cemetery on Burke Mountain, near Keystone.
